TODAY IN PHILIPPINE HISTORY
Senator Ferdinand Edralin Marcos, at the celebration of the Armed Forces Day in Camp Murphy (present day Camp Aguinaldo), received 10 medals for his bravery, distinguised conduct, wounds, etc., awarded him in the past years but never formally presented. The medals were for his service in Bataan as a guerrilla, and in the liberation campaign against the Japanese.
General Abdul Haris Nasution, Indonesian Chief of Staff and Minister of Defense, was special guest at the ceremonies. Nasution was in Manila for a 3-day state visit.
