The audience that witnessed the event held at the Latimer Square in 2013 and at the Canterbury Horticultural Society in 2014 were impressed of the rich and colourful display of their culture. For the year 2016, the cultural and social contributions of the established migrants that arrived in the ’80s and the newcomers who came to engage in the rebuild programme will be featured with focus on how they have moved on five years after the disaster in 22 February 2011.
Approximately two hundred volunteer Filipino artists ranging from different ages coming from the construction, healthcare, dairy farming, technology, hospitality and other sectors, will get together in showcasing their culture in many forms. There will be dancing, singing, playing of musical instruments, introducing of Filipino cuisine, parading of evolutionary costumes and will add more exciting items in the programme. The highlight of the programme will feature the presentation of the deserving outstanding Filipinos who have significantly reached the highest level of achievement in their line of interest.
