Kiwiana: BUZZY BEE
Did you know? Buzzy Bee can be regarded as one of the most popular and most loved toy in New Zealand. An iconic “kiwiana” symbol, it was designed and first produced in New Zealand in 1948 by Maurice Scheslinger.
A simple bee-shaped toy, with red wooden body, blue wheels, two spring antennae with red beads, and yellow plastic rotating wings that makes a clicking noise as it is pulled along the ground, the Buzzy Bee has made its way into the hearts of Kiwis through the years.
