Cory was sworn in as president by Supreme Court Senior Justice Claudio Teehankee at Club Filipino with Laurel as Vice President. Enrile was appointed Defense Minister and Ramos as Armed Forces Chief-of-Staff.
Marcos held his own inauguration at Malacanang Palace which was cut short as rebel soldiers took over all government controlled TV stations. Losing control and support, Marcos offered Enrile a position in a provisional government. Enrile turned the offer down.
Marcos finally gave in and called for a safe passage. The Marcoses then fled the country to seek refuge in Hawaii while the people stormed the palace and reclaimed control over the government.
